Hello, I'm Maria

Owner, Clinical Herbalist

I founded my clinical herbal medicine business, Garden Root Remedy, in 2022, offering a range of products including tinctures, salves, teas, capsules, and sprays. Our curated selection includes a variety of "wellness" products tailored to support immune system health, address chronic illnesses, navigate cold and flu seasons, aid sleep, facilitate pregnancy, alleviate gastrointestinal concerns, and many other wellness needs.

At Garden Root Remedy, our mission goes beyond merely providing natural remedies; we strive to empower our customers with knowledge, advice, and resources to embark on their wellness journeys confidently. We believe in the abundant healing potential found in nature's offerings.

Having called Arizona home for two decades, I've always been passionate about gardening. I utilize my backyard as a source for many of the ingredients used in our products. Additionally, the herbs featured in our formulations are carefully selected, ensuring they are organic, wildcrafted, and ethically sourced from reputable suppliers committed to delivering exceptional quality.

I love being a women owned small business that is growing and I am helping so many people with their general health needs and improving overall health.

This is my passion as an early retired health care provider, post COVID of 34 years, wanting to help in a different way that compliments western and eastern medicine. I have been blessed with my knowledge to move toward complimentary medicine to augment general wellness.

I want to improve on general immune health built individual immune system function and get customers to the best possible health! I have vast medical knowledge and now herbal knowledge to create plans of care to improve overall general health.

I am a big part of farmers market community and store fronts in my local demographic community. Selling and connecting at local farmers markets. I network with a women's entrepreneurial business connecting with small businesses every month to grow my business.

About Herbalism

Herbal Medicine is the art and science of using herbs for promoting health, while preventing and treating illness. The practice of using herbal supplements dates back thousands of years. Studies show that 75% of the world’s population still rely primarily upon traditional healing practices, most of which is herbal medicine. Herbal medicine is not for everyone however. They are not subject to the scrutiny of the FDA. Many prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines are also made from plant products, but these products generally only contain the purified ingredient regulated by the FDA. Herbal supplements on the other hand contain the entire plant or plant parts (flowers, leaves, roots).

Herbal supplements come in many forms which may be dried, chopped, powdered, capsule, or liquid and used in various ways such as: Teas, bitters, tinctures, powders, pills, topical preparations, and may be added to bath water.

Herbal supplements can be used successfully for conditions such as: digestion, fatigue, insomnia, hormone regulation, mental health, immune system, arthritis, headaches, metabolism regulation, colds, flu, coughs, etc. just to name a few.

The cost of using herbs to manage everyday medical concerns is small compared to the cost associated with pharmaceuticals and the potential side effects that come along with Western Medicine. Understanding disease processes and where western medicine has its place and where herbal medicine can complement can be very rewarding and lead to improved outcomes.

Tincture

Disclaimer

Herbal tinctures take about 2-3 weeks to build up within a person's body. Everyone's body will react a little differently to each tincture formulation.

Many tincture products contain alcohol (i.e. vodka) as the base ingredient. In the event that alcohol is contraindicated with your current health treatments, or even personal reasons, the herbs can be added to other menstruums (bases) at your request. We are happy to accommodate our customers!

Custom formulations will take up to 8 weeks to fully infuse and are ready for consumption. Contact us today if you need a custom formulation.
